Wallabies To Play In Bungendore
[ Tuesday, 13 February 2007 ]

On 14 April 2007 the Bungendore Rugby Football Club will host a charity match against the Silver Foxes, an invitation dream team of rugby's living legends where Wallaby greats from Australian rugby's golden age will dust off their boots for a return to this glorious game.

World Cup winning Wallaby Richard Harry, assisted by a local team of enthusiatic and dedicated players and committe members, has organised this match up. This infectious enthusiasm has created high interest from print, radio and television media outlets in Sydney, Canberra and the surrounding regions.

Captained by Harry, early selection for the Silver Foxes includes Wallaby greats such as Andrew Blades, Bill Young, David Wilson, Tim Wallace and John Langford, along with former Waratahs Travis Hall and Matt Dowling. There is also the tantalising possibility that all-time great Wallaby centre pairing of Tim Horan and Jason Little will reunite for the occasion.

Organisers and players hope to provide a welcome diversion from the drought while raising money for a southern NSW community charity, the Greater Good Already, support has been flooding in from corporate heavyweights including Macquarie Bank, KPMG, Merial and Elders.
