Chooks Edged Out of Minor Premiership
[ August 10, 2007 ]
The Mudchooks have ended season 2007 one point off the minor premiers Taralga. Sitting out the last round with a bye, the Chooks could only watch as Taralga came home in a not unexpected romp against the hapless Wests, who have struggled all year to get on the board.
As a result, Bungendore will have to travel to Taralga's home ground this Saturday for the first of two semi-finals. The other being played out in Jindabyne between the home team - Jindabyne - and Crookwell. Crookwell were lucky to hold onto fourth place with a double bonus point loss in the final round to Uni-Norths, who finished the season strongly and would be dissapointed to bow out of the competition.
Taralga are yet to lose a game at home this year. The closest they came was in the round 3 clash against the Mudchooks, which was a horror day for our boys. After lossing three players to injury they had to forfeit the game - which ended at 7 to 5 in favour of Taralga - and as a result being recorded as a 20 to nil victory.
So the boys would be greatful for as many voices as possible to lift them over the line and put Taralga away for the first time within their fotress this year. Please contact the Mudchooks' adminsitration if you need directions. See you at the game this Satudary at 2:30pm.
