Mudchooks Undefeated Minor Premiers
[ Friday, 13 August 2010 ]

The Mudchooks finished the 2010 season as undefeated minor premiers following a convincing 49 - 0 win over Vikings at Tuggeranong on Friday night.

Playing under lights, and with a small band of loyal Mudchooks supporters in attendance, the Mudchooks scored seven converted tries. Brett Watson continued his brilliant attacking record scoring two tries with Gerard Kearns, Jeremy Taylor, Luke Payten, Sandy Beggs and Simon Farrell each scoring a try. Aaron Williams kicked exceptionally well with seven conversions. The tries to Sandy Beggs and Simon Farrell were the first they have scored this season and it was very pleasing to see Simon's return to good form.

The whole Mudchooks team payed well and this was reflected in the spread of points shared by the players. Tymlock 3 points was shared by Gerard Kearns and John Turner. Bungendore Rural Services 2 points was shared by Eddie Zarb and Aaron Williams. Royal Hotel 1 point shared by Morne Ferreira and Brett Watson. Botham Fencing Coach's award went to Gerard Kearns and the Chick's Pick went to Eddie Zarb.

The Mudchooks finished the competition games with 65 competition points from 12 wins, and scored 375 points with 107 points scored against them. This is the first year that the Mudchooks have been minor premiers and the next game is the major semi final against Boorowa next Saturday 21 August at Bungendore. The game kicks off at 2:30pm and a licensed bar and canteen will be available for supporters.
