Mudchooks collect for Red Shield Appeal
[ Sunday, 29 May 2011 ]

On Sunday 29 May, eleven members of the Mudchooks “flock” joined with members of the Rotary Club of Bungendore to doorknock across Bungendore collecting donations for the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.

The Mudchooks have participated in this annual charity appeal for the last four years as part of their commitment to Baker, Deane and Nutt, one of the original sponsors of the club. This year the combined donations totalled $2,548.20, which is a great result and a credit to the generosity of the residents of Bungendore.

After the collectors had finished collecting along their allotted streets, they returned to the Bowling Club where they gratefully dined on bacon and egg rolls, home-made pumpkin soup and apple slice provided by the Rotarians. In addition to the eight senior Mudchooks, three junior “Mudchickens” accompanied their fathers on the doorknock and everybody involved agreed that collecting for the appeal was an enjoyable experience.
