Mudchooks earn tough win
[ Saturday, 4 May 2013 ]

An away game at Taralga saw the first win of the season for the Mudchooks. In a tough 34-30 win, an early injury to Kane Perry left the Chooks without any reserves in what was to be a very physical match.

A quick run by John Steele and a clever offload saw Eddie Mitford- Burgess score under the posts which was quickly converted by Aaron Williams. John was later rewarded with a try of his own just before half time.

The second half saw the forwards really come together and put some pressure on Taralga’s line. This was rewarded with new recruit Lachie Ferguson crossing for a hat-trick of tries. This is the second week in a row that the Mudchooks have scored themselves a bonus point for scoring four tries or more in a match.

Next week the Chooks have a bye followed by an away game at Jindabyne on the 18th May. Tymlock fencing 3 points- Lachie Ferguson; Royal Hotel 2 points – John Steele; Bungendore Community Bank 1 point – Adam Stevens; Currandooley Pastoral Co. Coaches award – Steve Gerlach; Chicks pick – Lachie Ferguson

So until:
  • Bakos stops thinking he is too fit to train
  • Butters learns to tackle below the neck
  • Gaz stops ruining Sandys modelling career
  • Taralga becomes a nice place to visit
